30th September 2016:
Special Interest Cars at Saturday Car Show
Joining the stable of 150 or so Mustangs covering all years and
models at the Viaduct Events Centre on Saturday 22 October will be some
twenty special interest cars - all located on the third floor. A great
mix of predominantly race and street mustangs with several having never
been previously seen in public until now. Pride of place however will go
to an extraordinary recent build that will have its first public viewing
at our car show. This car alone (and it is not a Mustang although it
depicts all things that make American cars so special) will be well
worth the investment of your time. Many thousands of hours have gone
into this build with a budget that will defy belief. The quality of the
workmanship will to many trained eyes exceed anything you have ever
previously witnessed. Without doubt the most amazing car that has graced
our shores in recent times - and built entirely in NZ. The car will
literally be unveiled at this event being placed under wraps until the
show opening. Guaranteed - you will not want to miss! The car owner will
be at the site to talk to visitors and answer questions as appropriate.
Don’t miss a trip to the third floor while you are at the Car Show.
As well as the Mustangs on the ground floor and the special interest
cars on the third floor, there will be trade stands on the second floor
and outside the Events Centre. There is plenty to interest and amaze
you, so make sure you cover it all.
For those not registered to attend the Convention, the Car Show will
cost you $10 for an adult and $15 for a family. |

20th September 2016:
Carshow & Sunday Run
The Auckland Mustang Owners Club is proud to be host club for the
37th National Mustang Convention, bringing some 200 plus Iconic cars &
their owners to Auckland over Labour Weekend. Those lucky enough to be
in Auckland over the weekend of 22nd & 23rd of October can enjoy the
carshow at the ANZ Viaduct Events Center in Viaduct Basin from 10am –
4pm on Saturday 22nd where the 3 levels will contain Mustangs from 1964
to 2016 exhibited along with trade stands & cars of special interest.
This is a trip from the past to today for all the family in the presence
of a marque which has had more songs written about it and attracted more
new car sales on launch day than any other car!
Our Charity of choice is Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust and they will
have a display on site - don’t forget to support this worthy charity by
a gold coin in their bucket collection. At the conclusion of the show,
cars will vacate the venue for the night and assemble again at 10am on
Sunday 23rd in front of The Spencer On Byron in Takapuna and convoy to
The AMP Showgrounds at Helensville via Kumeu, arriving at Helensville
around 11.45am. The Mustangs will be on display until around 2pm as part
of the “Art in the Village” being run over the weekend.

20th August 2016:
Registrations Close Soon
This is a reminder that Convention registration closes on 23rd
September.
Our plans are well in hand, with a good number of registrations already
to hand, and we can’t wait to bring the 37th National Mustang Convention
to you, showcasing our beautiful city and surrounds.
I hope you have your nautical theme dress ups for Sunday night
organised and make sure to bring your party mode because we have a great
band and we intend to get the joint shaking!
We look forward to getting those last registrations in as soon as
possible please.
We will contact everyone closer to the event with driving instructions
on getting to the hotel/motel in order to successfully negotiate
Auckland’s crazy traffic, also to ask about any special dietary
requirements, so watch out for those emails.

16th May 2016:
Accomodation Update
We have become aware that some people are having difficulty
booking into the Anzac Court, being told that it is
fully booked. This is not the case, simply a misunderstanding.
When you phone to make a booking you need to say you are with the
Mustang Convention and want to book one of the rooms being held for the
Mustang Convention. If there are any problems, please call the owner
Ken on 021480716 and he will sort it out.
Cheers,
Margaret

1st February 2016:
Welcome to the 37th National Mustang Convention to be
held from the 21st to the 24th October 2016 and hosted by the Auckland
Mustang Owners Club.
Our plans are well under way and this communication marks the start of
many over the coming months. Please note:
Our theme
Given we are in the “city of sails” and our venues are close to
the water, we have chosen a nautical theme, especially for the
Sunday night dinner. We love dress up, so please do your darndest
with this theme – surfers, sailors, Finding Nemo, etc, etc – let
your imagination run wild!
Accommodation
We have blocked a large number of rooms at Spencer on Byron,
Byron Street, Takapuna at the very special rate of $150.00 incl
GST per night. Every room has stunning views of a variety of
City aspects or out to the harbour. Some are studios and some are 1
bedroom suites. They are all the same price and each room has its
own kitchenette. To book, call 0800773623 and ensure you ask for
the special room rate for the Mustang Convention. This venue
will be the home base for the weekend, with all functions, other
than the car show, held here.
Car Show
We have secured the ANZ Viaduct Events Centre for our Car Show.
It is located a mere 10 minutes drive from the hotel at the Viaduct
in the CBD and is quite simply the most spectacular showcase for an
amazing show of the best of American muscle.
We will have plenty on offer at the Car Show itself with three
floors of Mustangs, trade stands and special interest cars, and
there will be ample areas for you to relax and enjoy the harbour
views. Should you wish to venture further the Viaduct and Wynyard
Quarter areas are bristling with restaurants, boat harbours, boats
of all shapes and sizes, The Maritime Museum, to name a few – there
is plenty to see and do. The Ferry Terminal is very close by if you
would like to take a trip to any of their destinations while your
car is at the show, or perhaps you would like to wander the CBD.
As we progress with our planning, we will keep you updated, but, for
now, please secure your accommodation and start polishing the Muzzie! We
are looking forward to a great turnout!
We expect to have the registration form available in May.
